Back from FanFest.

Leah | January 14, 2008 | 9:51 am

Just an update on me since it’s been a few days since I last posted. I’m back from FanFest, as I only went Saturday, I just slept most of the day yesterday. I’m currently writing a review post, and am about to finish it, about my opinions and experiences on the event that day. I also took 33 pictures, but I’m going to wait for my sister to send me the pictures she took as well, since I’m sure she got more than I did. I took more, but some were blurry or taken by accident of nothing. I had to edit most of them because they were dark, but I fixed them to my liking and they don’t look bad. But I hope to post that later this week, hopefully with pictures, but if it comes down to it, I might just add them later.

I’m still working on the Where We Stand Part 3 post, I guess it’s good I didn’t finish it yet since we’ve apparently (almost) acquired Mark Kotsay. But I will get to it, I promise.

Miscellaneous Stuff

Leah | January 7, 2008 | 11:28 am

This is more or less a miscellaneous post since there are different topics discussed, so go with me here.

The Spring Training schedule was released and I’m planning on going to the last game on March 29th at Turner Field against the Indians. The Spring Training  schedule is here in case you’d like to go to a game or just want to look over it. Tickets are now on sale, so if you’re interested in attending a game, you are able to get your tickets now.

FanFest is this Saturday and Sunday, I will be attending on Saturday. I hope to make a post about the event afterward and I will be taking pictures as well. I’m hoping to get autographs/pictures and I will include my impressions of each player that I get autographs/pictures from and meet in the review post I make, so you guys can read about my time there, and also for future reference.

Also, I’m working on a project for Catcher’s Blog, to try to get more interaction from visitors, instead of just me blogging. I’ll work on that and I’ll make a post about it when it’s completed.

I am working on Part 3 of Where We Stand series. I didn’t get a jump on it this weekend like I had planned on doing. I will hopefully have that finished by the end of the week, but we’ll see.

 >>> EDIT:

MLBTR has done a post about the Braves’ needs and luxeries. The post just breaks down basically what we already know, but think we should sign Cameron for CF.

Where We Stand: Part 2 - Infielders

Leah | January 4, 2008 | 1:45 pm

This post is all about the Braves ‘08 infield. This post is going to be slightly different from how I did the first one since all the positions are filled with a load of talent that’s waiting to prove itself. From 1B to 3B, I’ll be reviewing the highs and lows of each player at each position. This solid foursome might prove to be one of the best infields in the NL. Well, maybe. We hope so, anyway. Let’s review them, shall we? Read the rest of this entry »

Braves Mailbag: 1/2/08 & New Layout (sort of)

Leah | January 3, 2008 | 4:22 pm

The Braves site has a new Mailbag post in its news section from yesterday. I didn’t see this until later last night or I would have made a post about it. The Mailbag includes questions pertaining to the leadoff hitter candidates, Willy Aybar, manager’s salaries, Julio Franco, and Kelly Johnson. Fairly good read if you’re interested.

I have finished the layout update and from changing colors on this layout to even trying out a different one that I came to find I didn’t like, I finally found something that I’m satisfied with. I changed the colors around a bit and even made a new layout header. In case you can’t tell, that’s Brian McCann in the pictures and they were taken on Sept. 3, 2007 by yours truly. They’re not the best quality because my camera is crappy (I’m getting a new one next week), but I tried to use them in the header anyway. I had tried to put them in a header before for the site, but it didn’t come out very well. I like how it came out myself. Comments are appreciated.

I am still working on Part 2 of the Where We Stand series. I am almost finished with it, I just have to write a closing paragraph for it and post it. That should be posted tomorrow and I’ll get started on the next one as soon as possible since I start classes on Monday and won’t have as much time to work on the series as I do now.

Also, I’ve been meaning to post about this, but it keep slipping my mind for some reason. Blabberin’ Braves has opened their new forum and I’m now a mod to help out with it. Catcher’s Blog may one day get a forum and I hope it’s as good as this one. Please go visit and join to help support their forum and also to talk about our favorite baseball team, the Braves.

Site Updates/Asides

  • If you noticed that the site was down today, then I'm very sorry. The problem is now fixed and everything should function properly.

  • I added an IM widget to the sidebar, so if you have a question or comment for me on the site or the Braves, please feel free to message me using this widget located at the top of the sidebar. I'm usually always online unless it's really late at night or in the morning, in which case I'm asleep.

  • I've put up a new theme as you've probably noticed, but I'm still working on a few others to use as well. The Theme Switcher is still down for that reason and will be back up as soon I'm finished.
