What else could possibly happen?

Leah | August 15, 2008 | 6:45 pm

What else could possibly happen this season? I really don’t think we want to find out, but I’m sure we still will within the last month and half left of the season. Glavine has now gone back to the DL for the third time and is possibly done while possibly needing surgery on his elbow. Matt DeSalvo has been brought up from Richmond to join the already tattered bullpen to take Glavine’s spot on the roster. What did we do the baseball gods because they really do not like us this season, at all. This a good interpretation of the season so far:

Jeff Francoeur.

Brian McCann.

Will Ohman.

Now maybe that the dreaded Cubs are out of town and off to Florida, maybe we can acutally do well against the Giants. But I’m not holding my breath. Beware people, you never know what might go down in this soap opera of a season.

Please vote for Mac…

Leah | June 30, 2008 | 6:00 pm

I wasn’t going to post at all until I finished my review post of the game I went to, which I’m still working on, but since I received this in my inbox today reminding me that Mac still needs more votes to go to the All-Star game with only two days to vote, I thought I would post it. It’s way too cute not to post.

That would get me to vote for anything that has to do with Mac. I don’t think it would matter what it was for, just because of that face, I would vote for or support it. This will always be how I think of Mac, even when I see pictures like these. There’s not a thing he could do to change my mind of his cute, teddy bear-like appeal. Well, okay, I can maybe think of a few things, but I doubt he would ever do those things, or at least so no one sees him doing those things.

vote for Mac!

Mr. 3000

Leah | April 22, 2008 | 10:50 am

Tonight Smoltz goes for #3000 in strikeouts. For Talking Chop’s NAHWAL (Noc-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta game that fans play for fun and prizes) for today, I predicted that Smoltz would strike out Ryan Zimmerman in the 3rd inning of tonight’s game for #3000. Just thought I’d include that in the post. We’ll see how it goes.

Smoltz faces John Lannan again in a rematch from 4/12 against the Nats. Let’s see if Smoltz can beat Lannan yet again and reach #3000 in strikeouts to be among even more elites in the baseball world. Will Diaz be in LF again tonight after Blanco’s recent tear? Will KJ still be in the leadoff spot? We’ll have to find out later tonight, but it’s something to ponder.

Dude…

Mac
AJC Galleries: Feb. 17/Feb. 18/Feb. 19/Feb. 20

I know that I have been lacking on the posting front and keeping up with Spring Training stuff, but lately it’s just hard not to be lazy. I haven’t felt the best in the world the past few days, most times resulting in my coming home from classes and going straight to bed for most of the afternoon. I’m sure it’s sinuses/allergies, but it could be that I know that the quarter is starting to wind down. But I digress. I won’t try to load you down with news stories/links because there are so many.

But because it’s Mac’s 24th birthday, I will at least post the link to this AJC article on him from Sunday.

“I want to do the same thing every time I step to the plate, be consistent,” Braves catcher Brian McCann said. “This off season in the cage I got to where I felt like I did in ‘06, that comfort at the plate, feeling real good, and realizing I can cover every pitch.”

Happy Birthday, Mac!

And because I was bored today during one of my classes, because of finishing my work for the most part, I made this graphic. Excuse the sad excuse of an attempt of a graphic, but it serves its purpose anyway. I’m sure he won’t see it, but I won’t waste it nonetheless.

Another small note before I forget, I took some of the extra stuff from the sidebar. I either added it to the About page or just compeletely took it down from the site. Now the sidebars aren’t so cluttered. Also, a new poll is up.

Spring Workouts: Day 2

Leah | February 16, 2008 | 8:07 pm

Chino Cadahia & Mac

Just because it is Saturday doesn’t mean players get the weekends off. Quite the opposite, which means weekend pictures as well as various news articles.

  • Mac ready to start, is hoping to be more consistent this season.
  • Braves Notes: Chipper on staying healthy, Glavine throws first bullpen session, early  position player arrivals, and Aussies being Aussies.
  • AJC Galleries: Feb. 15th / Feb. 16th.

  • I've put up a new theme as you've probably noticed, but I'm still working on a few others to use as well. The Theme Switcher is still down for that reason and will be back up as soon I'm finished.
